How can I prove my Lithuanian descent?

I want to restore my Lithuanian citizenship because my grandmother was born in Kaunas before 1940. But I'm not sure which documents will work. I only have old photographs of her and a family record. Has anyone else gone through this process? How difficult is it to find archival data? I'm afraid it won't work without old passports, and there's little time for mistakes.

I recently studied this topic and found that a lot depends on whether you can prove citizenship before 15/06/1940. To start you should look at the information on the anchor https://www.lithuaniancitizenship.com/lithuanian-passport/ - there is detailed, which documents will fit and how archive search works. Even if you do not have a Lithuanian grandmother’s passport, you can use birth, residence or service records. It is much easier than you think, and specialists help to collect the missing data.
