Best material for bathroom shelves
I need some extra storage in my bathroom and think adding a few custom shelves would be a great solution for towels and toiletries. I’m worried about the humidity affecting the wood, though. Is it better to go with wood, or something else? Also, does anyone know a local professional in Toronto who builds custom bathroom shelves that can hold up to constant steam and moisture?

Bathroom storage needs to be treated specifically to avoid warping. Wood is fine if it’s sealed properly, but you want to ensure it’s finished with high-quality, water-resistant lacquer. You might want to check out https://alliancemillwork.ca/bathroom-shelves-toronto/ for examples of shelving that is designed to last in moist environments. It’s definitely worth the cost to have them professionally built rather than picking up generic ones that will swell or peel within a year or two of exposure to shower steam.
