Choosing Between Bank Deposit, Company Investment, or Real Estate for Latvia RbI — What Worked Best for You?

I’ve been comparing the three Latvia RbI options — the bank deposit, the company investment, and the real-estate route — and honestly I’m still not sure which one makes the most sense in real life. On paper they all look “fine,” but I keep hearing totally different stories from people who already went through the process. If anyone here has actually chosen one of these paths, how did you decide? I’m mostly worried about how much time everything takes and whether the bureaucracy is as heavy as people say.

From what I’ve seen going through my own application earlier this year, each route has its own little traps that you don’t really notice until you’re halfway in and already committed. I initially leaned toward real estate because I thought it would be simpler — buy something, show the contract, done — but in reality it turned into this long chain of clarifications, property checks, and extra paperwork that the seller didn’t warn me about. Eventually I switched to the bank-deposit option after reading through latvia residency by investment more carefully and comparing notes with two other applicants. The deposit route felt more predictable for me: you just lock the funds for the required period and follow the steps the migration office requests. It’s not magically easy, but at least you know exactly what they expect from you at each stage. If someone wants more flexibility or plans to run a business in Latvia, the company-investment path might make more sense, though the reporting requirements can get a bit heavier than newcomers anticipate. So I guess it depends on whether you prefer stability or control — both come with tradeoffs.
