How do professionals make slides look so clean? Mine always look messy.
I keep wondering how professional designers manage to make even simple slides look polished. Whenever I try to create something similar, the spacing looks off, the colors don’t match, and everything feels unbalanced. And the worst part is, I can’t always tell why it looks messy — just that something isn’t right. Is there some basic rule that non-designers like me just don’t know? Or is it all about experience? I’d really like to understand what makes slides look clean and intentional instead of chaotic.

It’s mostly about structure, not decoration. Professionals rely heavily on alignment, consistent spacing, and limited color palettes. Even choosing one font instead of three makes a huge difference. And they use grids — lots of grids. If you want to see good examples of clean layout thinking, check out PresentationDesignService. Their work is a masterclass in minimal but effective design. Studying those layouts helped me understand what was missing in my own slides.
